Mario Scheuermann: "Dieser Wein hat mich jetzt wirklich total überrascht. Tiefdunkles rubinrot. Nase erdig, rauchig, dunkle Beerenfrucht. Sehr charakteristische für die Appellation. Am Gaumen zeigt er eine schöne ausgereifte, aber dabei auch frische Süsse. Der Konfitüreton, der den Wein bei der Primeurverkostung vor zwei Jahren dominierte, ist nichts mehr übrig. Samtige Tannine. Langer, nachhaltiger Abgang mit einer schönen Kakaonote. Hier stimme ich aus heutiger Sicht absolut mit der Parker Bewertung (91 - 93) überein." - 92/100 Punkte.
The 55 hectares of vineyard (45 hectares red and 10 white) lies upon soil consisting of Gunzian gravel and slopes upwards towards the renovated château with its prominent 16th century tower. The vineyard consists of: 35% Merlot, 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc and for white grape varietals: 90% Sauvignon Blanc and 5% each of Sauvignon Gris and Semillon.

Very classy on the palate, a wine that nature has made rather than man.
Good weight, very vivacious and fresh. Cedar, pencil-lead and blackfruits. Quite spicy on the finish.
