Napanook, a historic vineyard that dates back to 1836, is located at the foot of the Mayacamas Mountains in Yountville, Napa Valley. The Napanook wine was first released in 1996 with the intention of producing a wine to be enjoyed in its younger years. Unlike the previous vintage, Merlot was added. Petit Verdot was eliminated this year because it would have brought too much structure to the wine, requiring years of aging to be truly enjoyable.

22% Cabernet Franc
17% Merlot
Barrel regime: 15 months in French oak barrels — hand racked every three months
